Big Marty does Little Downham *with vids*

Marty would like to be yours, he's heard that you don't have to work too hard nor too frequently. ;)

OH was heard to say to someone that it was payback time after all I do for him in the hunting season. :D

These days I'd be happy if he was able to leave the box. :(

Really? Did they get that on tape? ;)

Wow, a successful trip out! :)

I think you're cheating re Marty's diet though... My normally chubby youngster is almost skinny at the moment - possibly due do with the fact his field resembles the surface of the moon! Lol, it is satisfying when you can do up the girth a few more holes isn't it?

Am I really that transparent??! :o :p He is definitely in first place, with Moo Cow not far behind surely? Jup needs to pull his finger out and stop playing the sick card!

Yes you are, Miss See-Through. :D Jup is back in work and ready to claw his way up the leaderboard, or he would if he could be bothered and it didn't take much effort.

Thanks, Foxford. We have plenty of grass so he makes sure he fills his face then, knowing full well that I'll give him 3 or 4 stalks of haylage in the evening. ;) He does feel better and more lively for losing the flab. :D

3 or 4?!?! You're spoiling him... :p

It is amazing how suddenly they have extra length of step / gears once you ditch the love handles. Makes me wonder how fast I'd run if I bothered dieting. Hmmm. Can I have a crispy while I ponder that??! :D

He would beg to differ.:p

I could be the size of Paula Radcliffe - unlikely as that is :o - and still not be able to run. Marty and I are built for comfort, not speed. :D Crispy cake will be on its way shortly, although meardsall_millie made me promise to save some for her (she needs carbs before a lesson ;)).

Haven't done much posting on here recently but I've been lurking and keeping up with your antics! Great to read of a lovely, incident-free day (except for inducing nausea in your HHO viewing public ). Even better to end with a frilly and a Shiny Great Point :D

What next (if I didn't miss that earlier?)

Believe me, my day was puke-worthy even before the vids were taken. :p I like my incident-free days as much as you do. :) Catton next for Smarty, nothing for t'other cheeky boys until Milton Keynes on 25th.

Only just seen this - great report, loving the Baydale "warts and all" school of eventer psychotherapy ("My name is Tabledancer amd I sometimes feel scared :p")

It's funny what games your head can play with you: I vividly remember at Necarne one year, must have been ages ago cos there was still steeplechase, wandering around watching the ponies, juniors and 1*s waiting for the 2* and convinced I was going to die :o yet once you are on board it's always fine!

Huge well done on a great run and a great result, so glad it's all starting to fall into place for Marty, he's been a bit unlucky, hasn't he, and now he's gettingg a really solid platform to build on - there'll be no stopping him :) That looks like a proper grown-up Novice track!

Better out than in, I reckon. ;) :D

I always think three-days are far worse as you have so much time to stew about stuff. I used to make Gina (who bred William) give me some grief in the 10 minute box (ah, those were the days ) to get me all fired up. :D

Hope you're right about there being no stopping Marty now, he felt good to me, I was very smiley for the rest of the day. :o :)
