Ive been thinking for a couple of days that Doug isnt quite right. Not acting like his normal cheeky self. He just stand there like a zombie. I took him for a quiet hack today and whilst tacking up I noticed he has big lumps, not circular lumps but patchy lumps, two above his leg on either side a big one on the right side of his neck and one under the right side of his tummy

I will try and get pics tomorrow although theyre quite hard to see on a photo. Is there anything to worry about? They could just be fly bites, but he doesnt really get bitten by the flies and if he does he never normally reacts to them. I am not sure if this is why he is feeling a bit weird, they were quite itchy and big.

they sound like fly bites, lots of horses at work have got them over the last few weeks that dont normally get them

Yeah sounds like fly bites, or maybe nettle rash to me, probably nothing to worry about just keep an eye on it. Let us know when he is back to his self!

Sounds like flies hun. Does your ned have a good quality fly rug when he's turned out? They might have been making his life a misery and he's been trying to run away from them and is unhappy and tired.

Phew thats okay then, I was worried it would be something more than fly bites! Nope he doesnt have a fly rug, he has never had one. Does this mean I am going to have to make my rug collection even bigger?!
