I know this place is always full of horror stories about the roads and people saying how rude and dangerous some drivers are. But i like to ballance it out the other way too.

Went on a massive long hack yesterday, the lad had not been sat on in nearly a week as he has been a bit lame. It was a 'nightmare' day, with sooo many trucks, diggers, building work, skips, people carrying ladders/ doors/ paving stones and all sorts around. 3 muck spreaders, and numerous trailers. There was seriously not 5 minutes of it (out for several hours) which didn't involve something scary for a road nervous and giddy horse.

Every single one of them slowed right down, stopped, put down their tools, waited for us to pass before banging etc. The construction site moved a huge vehicle we would have had to pass very close to at the bottom of the bridle way. And although we had a few silly moments and pranced and snorted most of our way round, we avoided anything more because of everyone being so polite.

So i just wanted to say, a lot of people out there are very nice. And of course, i thanked each one profusely. :D

Mmm, it's great when you hear stories like that. Yesterday when I was out on my Tb, a chap was shovelling grit in his driveway and my divvy mare started to "do one". I asked him to stop and he said "wonderful, gives me an excuse for a break, anyway". A huge dustbin cart, coming out of a sideroad then completely switched off his engine for me.

They were all smiles, I was all smiles, even the divvy was smiling - just wonderful.:):):)

Yes I think the sunshine helps, doesn't it? I notice the lorry drivers on the A14 here in Cambs are feeling a little frisky too in the sun - reminds self - must stop driving topless - lol:D!!
