Been talking to people at my yard about my saddle dilema. And someone said "well it must be difficult because he has big shoulders" I have never really thought they were huge before and no saddle fitter has ever said anything to me along those lines before.

what do you guys think?

I can see why you are having a problem, he has a well set back wither and short back so not much room for a saddle to sit but should not be impossible. He probably has a fair range of movement through his shoulder that will push a saddle back if not fitted well, similar to one in my yard that has just had a new, second hand, passier fitted and a jumping saddle, it took a while to find the right ones but the dressage was the easier to get right.

Albions did not suit as cut in behind the wither and restricted his shoulder.

I have the same probs. fairly high wither, short back, big shoulders and quite wide. So if it's wide enough it sits on the withers. Have all mine flocked up at the front. I had an Albion K2 jump and it was cutting in him :( had it fitted and checked too. I think cos of high wither people tend to think he needs a narrow saddle when he's in a medium/wide!
