Well had entered dressage comp on sunday, and after judging and riding in little comp at friends livery yard on saturday i got home and atempted to get Bud grey/white again - hr and half later finished checked my phone and was message to say dressage cancelled!!! so decided i had not bathed him to go no where so eventually found sj was on at Markfield.
Next day cleaned all gear and after my LOVELY boss had been to template Bud for his NEW saddle (V V V excited) we set off, got there and still on BN jump off and i was 39th to go in Discovery....
Eventually my turn came, was really strong course as so many there over 50 in the class and Bud jumped lovely clear.
Ended up with 20 in jump off and i was 4th in decided nothing to loose and Bud seemed up for it so we did tight neat turns and galloped to last saw lovely xc stride!! he was a star great fast clear. still loads to go but turned out no one beat us so we won!!!!!
i was so chuffed, especially as there were loads of top riders/proffessionals and so many there, i am still quite high now!!! big grin on my face!
sadness - the amount of bad and i mean BAD riders i had to see and the amount of people using draw reins so tight i'm surprised horses could see where they are going - i actually had my head in my hands and close to tears at some of the riding and poor horses, there were some good riders some riding beautifuly pure joy to watch. i just don't understand pinning horses heads in jumping huge fences in collecting ring then taking draw reins off just before they go in and having no outline or no control all the way round the course.....
ok rant over
sorry but i needed to vent..... i was just so proud Budsie trotted round in lovely soft outline (which does make a change!!) and felt like saying hey look what you can do with HOURS of hard slog flatwork/dressage!!! and breathe..
