A few years aho i went to a big tack shop which sells all second hand stuff upstairs, it was on the outskirts of peterborough, im thinking coates or march?? I am back for a visit and really wants to go but cant remember what its called or where it is! Any ideas? I know its a long shot!! :o or can someone recommend a simelar place

I went there about a month ago, and they had tonnes of second hand stuff in (the entire upstairs was so full, there was stuff all over the floor too!) but it was all quite expensive for second hand, and a lot of the rugs were nearly new price, even the tatty ones.

Brill thanks! I remember the upstairs was quite big, but thats prob because i havnt been to anywhere selling second hand stuff before so i was quite excited :p

Equicentric seem to have downsized their second hand part. Certainly there aren't the racks and racks of saddles that they used to have in when I was in last weekend. Still some good things there though, friend picked up a very nice pair of denim-type Pikeur breeches the other day for £40.

ah really? apparently it will take an hour and 20 mins to get there (we are other side of pboro) , so might not bother. Anyone know of anywhere else?

There were about 150 saddles when we went in about a month ago. The saddles were well priced actually, but everything else was quite expensive for second hand. It depends what you are looking for? Call them and ask what they have in? The staff were very friendly and helped us out loads - we were after something specific, and they went and searched through all the second hand stuff and then phoned us back and gave us a list of what they had.

What are you looking for? I'm having a big tack / rugs clear out at the moment. I don't want to be seen as advertising but if you PM me with what you want I can have a look and see if I've got it. I'm nearer March than Equicentric is!

I've just been over there. I had a discussion with the staff about the second hand part and they are no longer able to take in secondhand tack. There is a little secondhand tack left - no saddles other than two awaiting collection. The new sales have been expanded upstairs, with Gents country clothing and childrens clothing being relocated there.

On pricing I understand that it has been at the seller's discretion with Equicentric acting as agent and taking a commission - so bargains to be had! I've had some lovely stuff - sheepskin seat saver for 50p, English bridles for £15 etc but also noticed other stuff at unrealistically high prices hanging around for ages.

I'm very pleased with the Sabre event boots I've just picked up :D

hth

Oh, they have got a big sale rail of new clothing and footwear upstairs in case anyone's after a bargain, as well as a certain amount of Pikeur (jackets, breeches) and Eurostar (breeches I noticed) in the secondhand clothing. I wasn't really looking at the clothing though.
