what is the biggest dog that lives the longest? lots of the really big dogs - thinking wolfhounds / great danes don't seem to live very long 8 /9 years, i was thinking of lurchers but as they are a cross, what would the biggest oure breed be?

thanks

My munsterlander was 14 when we lost him

We jsut rehomed a rescue to someone that had a 14 year old st bernard x newfoundland, which I thought was rather fab
Yu do get the odd large breed that live shockingly old compared to others of their breed that go pretty young but maybe average for their age.

Battersea Dogs Home large GSD cross something or other - sadly PTS at 16 years.

Black lab, not very posh, also 16 years.

2 x Cav King Charles a year apart in age - both PTS at 12.

I reckon ones that are large rather than giant, which dont have widespread known serious health issues and which dont have extreme characteristics. Even better if a cross.

Im hoping my rescue Doberman will make old bones.....
