biggest mistakes

When I worked at a riding school riding in childrens stirrups, the pony bucked and I did a very good impression of superman.

Took pony out galloping with a race horse who left us behind, pony panicked at being left and freaked out every time I tried to canter in company for the next 5 years
 
I have another one............
we had a pony on a lesson that kept stopping at a double so I offered to get on and get him over- I was too big for him but not too heavy so off I went. I rode to the double with great confidence and the pony jumped the first element with great enthusasim the slammed the anchors on at the 2nd part- I went over his head and ended up sat with my feet still in the stirrups and my hands on the floor!! Completly stuck over his head- very embarrasing!
 
I have made loads of mistakes and I will continue to make them.

However, one thing I have learnt is to check once, check twice and check again. It saves so many bruises

Taking Berry down to the beach on my 15th birthday (OMGG that's half my life ago

), wearing a pair of shorts and flip flops and him wearing ONLY a headcollar + leadrope - needless to say, I lost both flipflops and nearly pulverised serveral tourists into the sand!! Had a lovely swim though to cool off though

Putting both arms out to break a fall, when the horse decided at the very last second (she actually broke the first pole) not complete her jump over a 4ft oxer. I broke both my wrists and my collarbone

I also learnt to check and double check girths the hard way! It wasn't very dramatic and was on a little pony but I am still overly anal about it and it's 10 years later!

My most stupid moment recently was just this past Sunday at a ODE. After the SJ I managed to lock my keys in the car, along with my x country gear, body protector, skull cap etc!

Luckily I got a spare set and was all ok but I will try very hard not to do that again

It took my mind off of the x country fences for a while too!
 
I have a classic.
Had my mare in electric fenced paddock. Went to feed her as she stood next to fence. Rugged her up, as cool night forecast, then put her hay out.
Mare finished feed, looked at hay, but didn't move, looked at me pointedly.
Yep, you guessed - I had rugged her TO the electric fence tape.
Luckily it wasn't on, and my mare is sane!
