Can anyone please send me a Bill of Sale/Agreement (template) - I just want to be prepared should the seller not have one suitable.

What should it include? Should it also include: date of teeth done, when last wormed/with which wormer etc. Date of last shoeing, Flu/Tetn vac and when the next will be.
Change of ownership etc. Was the horse under any medication/drugs at the time of viewing to the time of selling?

Your comments/helpful advise would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

You just need your name and address, the seller's name and address, description of the horse including name if they have one, the amount it cost and whether you paid cash etc and a place for you both to sign and date. You don't really need anything else on a receipt, as you should have a passport with vaccination information and your vets report if you had the horse vetted.

I always put a brief description that is similar to the ad, ie 15.2 bay gelding 5 years sold as seen, tried and vetted, if it was, suitable for RC activities, good to box, catch, traffic with no vices.

Name address, of buyer and seller, price paid and method of payment.

Then add last date wormed, shod and any useful info such as its current feed, any allergies or little ways it has;)

This suits me as I feel there are things people forget to ask and the buyer is happy as they do get in writing a true picture of what they buy, I do similar when buying as it it good to get proof of purchase as well as useful info.

Get thir passport number and / or breed society registration number on it as well. Ask to see the passport to confirm they are the registered owner.

When i sold my boy receipt had our name and adress, buyers name and address, horses full name, passport number thingy, breed, hieght and colour and was signed by myself, my witness and buyer and her witness :)

She had already had him on loan for a few months though, So didn't feel the need to include personal info on the horse such as feed/feet/worming etc as she'd done all that herself at the time of sale.
