with fuel prices as they are does anyone run their car on bio fuel or cooking oil do you make your own or buy from supplier i have been thinking to do this for a while and from what i can gather our disco 2.5 turbo 300 will run fine on any of the above ,does anyone run one of these on oil ect .
does anyone know if its poss to run a wagon on any bio fuel cant find much about wagons

Just be careful as I was told that it will invalidate ALL warranties on your vehicle - so if the paint falls off but you are using biofuels, you have no recourse to claim under the 10 year car warranty etc etc - check with your garage. It is not just engine related warranties that are affected - this was from our main Mitsubishi dealer.

That said, our local haulier is running all of his fleet of trucks on biofuel - costs approx 75p a litre delivered to his yard.

i suspected that would be the case but ours is old a 96 so no warrenties ,i would like to sell it as i have a wagon now but the market for 4x4 s is poor due to fuel costs ect so if i have to keep it i will try and run it cheaper, its great car and having a really bad back the only one i am comfortable in but i do loads of miles a day so getting a bit too expensive to run now we dont tow ,could try swapping it for a smaller car to someone who needs a tow car i suppose, but really want to keep it despite the costs.

Before you think about using vegetable oil in your vehicle do loads of research on the net to check that your car will run on it. My Pajero will run on it but I use a mix of about 60/40 Diesel/Oil. This is because it can be dificult to start the car initially when the oil content of the fuel is high. Additionally when the weather gets colder you need to either increase the diesel content or use a small amount of parafin in the fuel to increase the viscosity of it.

I use new vegetable oil as there is quite alot of work you need to do filtering out impurities & getting rid of water held in used oil.

Many of the newer diesels engines are not suitable to use vegetable oil in. If you are not 100% sure you can use it in your car then don't. A new engine is expensive.

I know nothing about the use of vegetable oil in lorrys, sorry.
