At the moment I am feeding a specific hoof supplement to my TB who has resonable feet but he does have a sandcrack so i want to make sure he is going to continually grow good horn. However I am just about to start feeding another supplelment (for a diff problem!) which has 20 mcg of biotin in. Is that enough to maintain good horn growth or should i keep him on his hoof supp? - i don't want to overdose him with biotin?!!! any thoughts...........

20mg per day is the recommended level of biotin, will work more effectively if combined with zinc & methionine which should be in the hoof supplement you are already using. Hope that helps!!

20mg of biotin is the reccomended level so if your new product is 20micro grams that is nothing in comparison. i wuod therefore keep your horse on the seperate hoof supplement also. it should also contain methionine and lysine for good hoof growth.
