hi,
i feed my horses biotin, but someone told me it can cause liver damage or something like that if feed for more than 6months, im just woundering if this is true? i feed it for a few months then stoped but bck on it again as her feet have started crackin up again,
just abit worried now, so if u can help il be hapy to hear it

my horse been on biotin for 10 years, he's 23 and as far as i know all his digestion including liver is working very well. We started feeding it for the hoof growth, but it contains vitamin B which also helps digestion and coat condition (sorry if my facts aren't 100% accurate, went on PC talk couple of years ago, and i think that was what was said!!)
 
After reading the article, I am going to stop feeding biotin and stick to seaweasd and rosehip mix by equimims. I also feed nettle from hilton herbs ...but then I am going barefoot 10 weeks in, and no trouble yet and doing 5 miles a week on the roads.
