Bird scarer petition

If you only wanted people to sign the petition and not have an opinion or to offer helpful advice maybe you should have locked the thread or not have posted on an open forum. There has been no cyber bullying, a poster stated she had googled gas guns and OP was mentioned, hardly stalking. No one has been abusive but if you consider offering advice or having an alternative opinion to be that then I hold my hands up.
Horse riding is high risk, we hear of more accidents involving dogs, cars, plastic bags etc than gas guns, maybe if everyone was a bit more tolerant of their fellow countryside users life would be a bit easier but it has been known for intolerance to raise it's ugly head, and it happens in both camps.

And I did say it would be a silly idea to stop selling hay and straw to horseowners...lighten up a lilttle!

Oh I am pretty lightened up ,I am one of the most laid back people on the planet .
It creases me up with laughter when an issue like this gets raised and you get the extreme edge of the farmers camp squealing if we can't do x y z just as we wish without any thought for others there will be no food as a response to anyone who has cheek to question their practises .

I think if farmers consider where they site gas guns and put them in safe places and think about neighbours then there would be no need for a petition .
The problem that some don't think and place them where they are a nuisance or dangerous then there should be regulations .
I use gas guns and rope bangers the ones that smoke and the gas guns are very loud and allways make me jump when they go off.
I would never dream of placing one at the side of a highway or bridal path as it would be plain stupid.
Those who say horses get use to them must have unbelievable horses if one goes off feet from you its going to make EVERY horse jump and rider what happens after the jump depends on rider and horse ,I consider my horse rock solid but he would canter a few strides before pulling up.

Exactly.

I really don't understand why people are against regulations unless they know full well they do not use bird scarers responsibly. If they did, there would be nothing to object to.
