I hav a 23yr old cob x that has become quite hard in the mouth and we did a show yesterday and judge said that i needed to get her into more of a shape and she was too long in the neck,so wondering what type of bit would help me get her into more of a shape! Should i just stick to the half cheek or drop cheek jointed snaffle that i hav her in already?
Never noticed this problem before and have won many veteran classes and no other judge has said that before, to be honest i just dont think the judge liked her yesterday! i do struggle to get her on the bit but dont want to cause her any pain really by putting in too harsher bit!
Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved!

i have been having a think and thinking of trying a wilki bit in her or i dont know wether to try a weymouth bit but i am really worried about trying new bits because i dont want to go too harsh in her mouth, with her being a veteran! she is very hard in the mouth already so she probably would be ok, i am at a bit of a loss really!

One of the girls on the yard said to try a french in the drop cheek or tom thumb bit that i have her in already! Might look for a sweet iron one though even thought of getting a happy mouth bit but it would have to be black rubber as i still show her!
Thanks for your help, i will keep you posted if we and when we find a suitable bit!!!!
