Hi guys, bit of a question...

I have a lovely Thoroughbred who has been off the track for a while now and has lots of potential. He still needs more schooling but we've always had bitting issues. He never seems to like anything! Currently riding him in a french link snaffle but have not yet had the chance to jump him in it.

But basically, when he's jumping, he has the tendency to come above the bit and pull which can lead to napping and refusing which is a pain!

Any bitting, schooling or 'gadget' ideas would be amazing.

Thank you :)

trot when approaching a fence for a while, do lots of small cross poles and lots of pole work on the ground. Make sure he is doing all of this calmly before jumping any bigger. Raised trotting poles on circles can be really helpful too.

Working long and low with a Pessoa might help.

Has back, saddle all been checked? Nothing pinching?
If so maybe look at getting a sport massage done, our ex racer has a area on his shoulder that gets very tight twitches and if we don't get our massage lady out he starts hollowing and avoiding aids.

He used to have one every 5weeks ish now its once or twice a year.
