Hi,

I had a lesson on my welshie today away from home and he was fab but I didn't have good breaks. I currently have a Neue Schule Verbindend Loose Ring Snaffle Bit which I currently use all the time for hacking, schooling, jumping, cross country, blast round the field but he has recently become slightly strong and very fit. This bit would only be used for hacking if going for a trot/canter, away jumping/cross country clinics/events, I don't want something to severe and he does not like poll pressure, he loves the material of the neue schule, can anyone suggest anything. Thanks, Kelly.

I have a Welsh with a very sensitive mouth but if he decides he is going somewhere (or going to stick his head between his front legs and buck), you can't stop him. He also hates poll pressure.

On my instructors advice, I now ride him in a loose ring waterford. He goes beautifully in it. Light in the hand and very responsive, but he is happy to work into a contact.

Thanks for your reply, I do have a waterford but I think he finds it very uncomfortable (to big in his mouth) and the fact that he doesn't let me put it in without a real struggle, where as with the Neue Schule he accepts it straight away.

Thank you :)
