my horse is very head strong , when canterin allways hangs head and in canter when jumping he lifts head looks at it and then jumps perfect but landing is a different matter he will then pull his head down and then i have to pull it back up he is in hangin snaffle, i think it called i forgot now

Had my lad in the french link version and he hated it...went back to the basic loose ring french link and fine.....sounds like you need to sit deeper and ride forward...after a jump sit back sit deep and drive forward so he has to pick up head...he is using it as an evasion...when you are doing your canter work(not jumping),sit well and upright ride forward and when he starts to lean on your hands drop the contact(push hands forward) ride him forward and pick up again...he has learnt to lean on you!!

A hanging cheek with encourage him to put his head down, as it has a head lowering action.

A LR French link would be a good thing to try as well as the riding advice given by Hadfos and perhaps some schooling and grid work.
