hey,
my 15.2 arab is really strong when jumping - and currently is in a Dr Bristol Eggbutt Snaffle but what other bit could i try i did buy a wilkie but he objected to that as he likes the link in the middle but what other bit could i use . many thanks

I've recently put my strong horse in a Neue Schule Universal with tranz angled lozenge (sorry, what a mouthfull!)

Stops him pulling so much and getting difficult to hold. Works wonders with him.

They are pricey, but I think its worth it to have brakes, lol.

Completely agree with myhorsefred, the universal is ace!
You can use it in so many ways, it's really versatile so you can find what suits your horse best. It great for that bit extra control without being too harsh. The mouthpiece is designed to be comfortable, (my boy mouths away on the "Salox" metal that it's made from) but you definately have the brakes you need!
You can try them too before you buy - if you search "horse bit trial" in google you'll find some web sites that do it.

Might be worth trying to borrow a Waterford snaffle.

I don't know if you have regular jumping lessons but I found it very useful to have lessons with a good instructor with my strong mare. She actually fought a stronger bit and I ended up jumping her in a happy mouth with central lozenge.
