bit advice

decided to let my daughter ride Ben in school today but she fell in love with a haflinger and rode him instead so rather than dragging my tack up for nothing me and my mate tried him in school, Ive been thinking for up grading him from a flash to a grackle and up a bit as he fights me and has no breaks so......

hes in a french link snaffle a Dr Bristol doesn't work so i was thinking of trying him on gag

or does anyone know of something else?

Have you tried a 2 ring snaffle??

When you say he has no breaks, what does he do? Head up or down? Does he cross his jaw? Does he lean on the bit?

he crosses his jaw and leans on bit and his head is up u pull and he keeps going till you circle him

In that case I would change to a grakle noseband, as you suggest, and change to a loose-ring bit as they are good for leaners.

hes on a French Link Hollow Mouth Loose Ring Bit does nothing

I would try a hanging cheek then, i often find they get nice results with horses who stick their heads up and you will have an extra bit of poll pressure to give you more control. a snaffle to a gag is a big jump.
