Hi!

I was just wondering if someone can suggest a bit for my horsey, I currently have her in a French Loose Ring Snaffle Bit but I don't seem to have any brakes!!

She has quite a soft sensitive mouth, so what stronger bit would be better?

Thank you in advance :)

I don't think a stronger bit is the anwser, or else she'll harden to that too. Though a pelham or something with 2 reins can give you more control in the short term as you only have to use the stronger part when you need to.

:D

prehaps the same mouthpiece in a hanging cheek bit or a loop ring bit ( I use a loop ring french link for equitation at shows as i find i have a bit more control) also a different thickness of mouthpiece could help. :)

Happy Mouth hanging cheek - a really nice bit that puts pressure on the poll, my boy loves the taste ! but be warned - they are chewable thru...

in what way do you mean you have no brakes? Does she lean, throw her head up, brace her neck etc? Depending on how she is ignoring your aids different bits may suit. What sort of mouth confirmation she have (big tongue, low palate etc). Is this a new behaviour to her? If so then of course first call would be dentist.

I had mine in a french link fulmer snaffle, and had no breaks, so now I have her in a wilki snaffle and she goes amazing in it. It's only slightly stronger than a snaffle but it works :)
