Hi, I have owned my 5 year old horse for 3 months but am thinking of changing his bit and would like some advice? He holds his head very high in trot and gets very fast when cantering in company and sometimes a bit difficult to pull up especially if the others haven't yet! he also is forward and excitable when jumping so I was thinking something for extra brakes and some poll pressure? he is in an eggbutt and I don't want to ruin his mouth with a harsh bit as I have a lot to learn still and he is only young. A tom thumb and hanging cheek snaffle have been suggested.... reading on the tom thumb im not so keen. thanks
