bit advise?

i have now taken my pony out a few times and the more he goes out the stronger he gets (to the point i have no breakes although he does stop with the field),he does slightly pull but not greatly. the bit (single jointed snaffle) has no effect on him so I was thinking of trying him with something else. He doesn't throw his head in the air, instead brings his head in toward his chest and runs. im just wondering what you would use thanks in advance

I'm in exactly same boat, mine hated waterford so I am in French link 2 ring. Does help if you use leg to get horse up into bridle, which when they are v forward going needs a deep breath. Hoping mine will settle as season goes on, other option is diff noseband, maybe grackle or drop but I do like my hunter bridle.

i now hunt him in a vulcranite pelhem with a flash nose band, still slightly strong but much more managable

Thanks for coming back to say what worked, does the pelham not pull his head in even more? Do you use it with one rein and roundings or 2? Will go and research it now

it doesn't seam to although it is still in. i use rounding's and only use the breaks when i need them.

i have found a thinner snaffle with a drop noseband has worked for me
