Bit and headcollar attachment

Apparently there is a way of attaching a bit with a headcollar so the pressure is on both of them when you are leading them. Any ideas how? Thanks.
 
You can get a slip, like the one for a chifney, so you can use your headcollar and bit at same time and take off the bit when required leaving headcollar on.


Or tie the bit to the square bits of the headcollar with twine. Or I am sure someone in the horsey world has invented bit attachments to headcollars!

Maybe look at some of the endurance stuff. Only an idea.
 
You need bit attachments to attach the bit to the headcollar and then a three-way coupling which is then attached to the bit and the headcollar, lead rein thhen clip to coupling. If that makes sense.
 
Do they make 3 way couplings? That would solve my problem perfectly. Do you know where you can get one from? Ta.
 
Couldn't find a traditional three-way coupling, but this should work fine.

Will you get a grip (this is not advertising) please go and read the T&Cs. You were questioned re: your motives as you mention the same website everyother post (thus a forum member suspect you are/were connected to them in someway).
 
Thanks MFH and PS wasnt even aware 3 way couplings were available - I have got the traditional 2 way chain one but wanted to apply pressure to the headcollar too as it is for leading an unruly youngster to and from the field. I am going to ask my saddlers if they can make me one. Thanks again.

Your saddler may well have one in stock anyway as they are quite common for inhand showing (can't believe I couldn't find one, my shopping skills must be slipping!!!).

lol piebald I was trying to think of that the other day as someone asked a similar question. I couldn't remember the name of the coupling as I was going to bid for it myself but the one I was going for went for nearly the shop price anyway so I didn't bother.
But I agree about the advertising and no it wasn't.
Unless someone has one they can photograph how else can you show the item and possible places to buy it from as it is not a well known horse accessory.

. Bracken1 has a chip on their shoulder because someone pulled them up re: advertising coz the mention the same website in almost all their posts. It's O.K. though as I have finally found a use for the 'ignore user button'
