what is the best age to put in a bit for the first time.

Also lunging not heavy but basics.

I ask as i have a nearly 2 year old colt and remember i nearly knackered my filly with bad advice last time if it hadnt been for someone saying dont listen to them idiots im still quite a novice at these things.

all tips will be helpfull x:confused:

Little girl at the yard is already accepting the bit, she's almost 2. We worked on it this summer but it's very occasional, very small yard and there's not always time to regularly do it, but she's been very good since the rearing problem she decided she had a few months ago was sorted.

She's not been lunged yet, but she gets led around the yard to see the sights and smells etc

i walk him all over on lead we go round roads and stuff not tried the bit or the lunging tho yet he is so chilled out tho and can tell he trust me so hopefully he will be fine might start the bit after xmas.
