Looking for some advice. My horse constantly chews her bit and pulls on it and rags her head around, Ive tried everything and I’m kind of stuck where to go next. She’s had her teeth, back, saddle all checked and she’s not in anyway uncomfortable, Ive tried many different bits with lozenges, links, straight bars you name it. She’s currently in a myler hanging cheek comfort and this has probably been the best bit for her to not resist the contact but she still chews, Ive tried, flash, no flash, grackle, no nose band and nothing seems to be working. I try to ignore it but it gets really frustrating. She’s 12 years old so not young and immature either. Has anyone else ever had something similar? How did you resolve?

Thank you

You might think this is unhelpful as I don’t know what sport you do, but I took the bit out. He just didn’t like it. He works better without one. You say she is in no way uncomfortable but I find that hard to believe if she is acting the way you say. She may not have an injury but she is acting like an uncomfortable horse.

You yourself can be checked over by your doctor, your physio and your dentist and they may all say you are fine, but you can still have a screaming headache, horses are no different.
