Mimosa has a very tiny mouth, and is very light in the bridle.

She is in a French link full cheek, as she seemed to stabilise in the contact quite well in it when we started schooling her.

She is with a different rider now and is starting to jump, and I think it isn’t suiting them as well. I tried her in a bog standard single jointed eggbut snaffle and it was just too chunky in her tiny mouth, and she didn’t seem to work comfortably into the contact.

She goes beautifully bitless.

125mm fits her but I think she could go down a size. But really but it’s not the width that’s the issue, she has very little room in her mouth. Her palate is quite low and her tongue fills most of the space available. If you pop your finger in her mouth, it’s a tight space.

I'd definitely look to try a happy tongue first
 
Both my tbs have small mouths and fleshy tongues, the current one is almost Araby in his head shape, big forehead, tiny muzzle.

I have a myler comfort snaffle in the thinner mouthpiece. It has a sleeve so no sharp edges or joints on tongue. Some people find a slightly ported option is better but I have the lowest.

I really like the Bomber ported barrel. Mine has eggbutt cheeks, but it comes in a variety of options. I found the happy tongue encouraged mine to lean. I trialled the NS turtle tactio and it was chunky and quite heavy. Horse hated it!

If you want to message me your post details, I'm happy to pop both my eggbut and loose ring bomber happy tongue (as in your links) to try, as B off games and the newbie is in something different x

Edited to add, I also have the Elliptical B but I think that might be too much, i use it for storming xc.
 
I have a myler style small ringed bit with lozenge for my NF. She's quite petite and was backing off the contact. I tried a few bits but she took to that straight away and so has everything I've put in it since. It's also curved so sits better in the corner of their mouth.

It’s a micklem competition bridle, on the side pull option.

It gives her lots of room around her very large Bambi eyes, and is small around the nose but still gives space across brow-band.
 
Fin has a low palate and the only bits he’s not hated are a Myler combination and a Fager titanium bit. I love the Fager. It’s the only thing that’s got him out of the damn Myler combo and he accepts with no steering debacles.

That's interesting. I have the one without the rings so can't be used bitless.

However the TB I mentioned was really difficult to fit. I had a full headpiece and browband and cob cheekpieces and non of my noseband collection looked right. Tried a Micklem and fitted him, it was half price in a sale and saved me from having to get one made

A bit grainy but gives you an idea

The Rambo ones don’t have great leather quality, I’ve had to replace reins once already on my brown one which is a real pity but the shape really seems to work for some horses. I may have my next one made in the same sort of style but by a local leather worker. Yours looks very smart!

Mine is Rambo. I think I was lucky, it's not amazing top of the range quality but it's not bad and 10 years old.

I never use the reins that come with a bridle, I had some stubben rubber covered ones and when they died bought some Henry James eventer reins. Apart from the grip, reins (and stirrup leathers) are something I prefer to upgrade for safety reasons.

Thansk for that, does it have a padded noseband?
I thought it looked like a micklem but not quite the same, mine was not a competition one so that's where the difference will lie.
