Yes? No?

The horse loved eventing and so did the girl
So they packed up the trailer and they set off for Firle.
"He can't stand dressage" the girl had said
"If he knows what we're doing, he'll really lose his head".
The husband went up front and he said to the vet:
"She's on in fifty seconds and she's not here yet."
"What!" cried the vet, as she madly waved her scanner,
"Let me tell you something, this girl is not a planner".
Well the girl turned up and the vet scanned the chip
(And the girl held on with a very firm grip).
They went straight to the test and took the horse by surprise
(The girl said the judge was a hay net in disguise.)
It all went well, they stayed in the right pace.
They did most movements in roughly the right place.
Then they packed up the horse and took him to his stable
And tucked into the wine as soon as they were able.
The girl has an aunt, who's well-placed for these events
And she does a stellar service in gin and in spare beds.
They returned the next day and they watched some jump
And the girl turned to her husband, in a right old grump;
"I've seen three go, and they've all had a mare
And now I have ride this track without a care?"
So the girl got on and the horse was pretty keen
It was a twisty a course as the girl had ever seen.
The first few were ok, then number five was larger
And just before the treble, it all got harder.
The turns were sharp, they were also short and tight,
The oxers were square and very up to height.
They went in and jumped, but the girl finished with a frown,
For although she'd kept the canter, they'd had two down.
The aunt turned up and she took the children off
The husband was hopeful that she'd brought some wine to quaff.
The girl went off for a last look at the coffin
And with her came her husband (who's a cross-country boffin)
"That one came too fast" he said, "You need to steady up"
"That one's on a team," spat the girl "In the Nations Cup!"
The girl set off slowly, she even had some brakes
(Husband joined the aunt and ate the kids' cakes.)
Number five were two houses, they required turning
The girl took a pull and she quashed the speedy yearning.
Next was a let-up and then of course the corner
But husband knows his stuff and about this he had warned her.
So she went to the left, as per the plan
And the husband he was right - he is quite a man.
Number ten was three parts, skinnies on an angle
And the girl was ready for a tug-of-war wrangle.
But the horse was polite and he stayed plenty straight
So he came back in balance when the girl said to wait.
Up next were two uprights, five strides in between
But the girl had to kick a bit, for four the horse had seen.
Down the hill they flew, to a turning skinny
And the horse powered up and made it feel quite mini.
They turned to the right and headed to the water
And the horse pulled a bit, though he didn't oughta.
The girl sat up and she said "That's FINE".
"But just you listen here, you stay on that line."
The horse kept the line and jumped the angled hedge
Really quite nicely, not even on the edge.
Just before the coffin, the girl tried to slow
But the horse was keen and he didn't want to whoa.
They reached an agreement and came in a bit strong
The girl sat up and held, to make sure he wasn't wrong.
Over the next few, they finished just fine
And were greeted at the trailer by husband, aunt and wine.

Our girl has done well,
Though the fences look hell.
Vito may be her top mate,
But the new horse is great.
And the hho crowd,
Yell "you've done us proud".
Such a good day,
You're well on the way
To not giving a scooby
About your leaky left booby.

Where's the photo of your tails?! Need ubiquitous snap of you and Carrot/Parrot in front of the house. Well done.

You may be the first person ever to have written a poem for me (or at me). Thank you.

Well done! And nice to meet you on Saturday!

You too!
