Bit experts help!

So after a very stressful ride, I've decided to seek help as I'm hopeless with bits.
Long story short we had tanking off in trot, bucking and reading in canter and she even bolted with me, luckily I did stop her but I'm so shocked, in all the time I've had her she has never done that! Currently she is in a hanging cheek snaffle and it's proving not to be enough at times, I hate having to really pull on her to slow her down! She was in a Dutch gag before on the second hole but I didn't like using it as i only want to use it as a last resort thing, I'm getting her back checked ASAP as she was pulling faces when I was doing her girth up, which she also has never done.

so what I want to know is there anything stronger than a hanging cheek snaffle(I use jointed I think it is!) but not as harsh as a gag if there is anything? I'm sorry I'm hopeless with bits!

Learn to use two reins so you have more accurate control.

I would not recommend a stronger bit to you, I would suggest you get an instructor to come and give you some help though.
