Bit for a small mouth

My 14hh cob has got a small, short mouth and a single jointed snaffle seems to hang too low in his mouth, even though he has a slight 'smile' when it's in. What bit do you think would suit him? I have a french link to try but his tongue is also quite thick. He's very responsive in the mouth so I only need a mild bit.

Mine is the same, and I use a tranzlink but he is funny about the tongue pressure. I have just brought a 12mm Verbinend from Neue schule, and it fits his mouth beautifully. Will let you know how we get on with it!!
