Bit for a young sensitive Arab?

I had lots of trouble with my opinionated grey. She hated every bit that I tried. Eventually I tried a Myler comfort snaffle (so expensive) and of course, she liked that one.

*grumbles* Flipping princess pony and her expensive taste.

Mine's in a sweet iron loose ring French link with a lozenge in the middle, he seems to be quite happy in it. He was very frightened of the bit when I first got him, I reacted by taking up hardly any contact but have subsequently discovered that this does not work so taught him to accept it using quite loose side reins. We hope to go bitless too but I have no real brakes at the moment and don't want to make the leap of faith yet!

A simple lozenge bit a french link or other double linked bit to start with if they dont like that then you need to try a few.
My youngster prefers her french link fulmer to the happy mouth I tried as it is a bit thinner and she has thick fleshy lips

Don't know about youngsters, but mine always prefers a mullen mouth, especially a nathe loose ring or happy mouth straight bar loose ring.

I have a loose ring double joint lozenge which I did lunge him in with VERY loose side reins so ill stay with that for a bit... I do like the thought of a myler though :-/

My arab is ridden in a magic snaffle its a straight bar with a port like a pelham but with snaffle rings, he hates any form of jointed bits, I have found many arabs do.

If it makes you feel any better my princess pony did this too - and she has such a small mouth that I had to order it from AMERICA for her because I couldn't find a UK supplier that did them small enough. So as well as the normal high price tag I also had import duty and postage handling costs to pay when it finally arrived!!!! Not to mention the collection of not quite right bits that we acquired along the way......
