Bit for cob

She wasn't actually a cob but had a big fat tongue in a short mouth, the Westphalian Kaltblut went well in NS Universal with 2 reins. The Clydesdale went well in a PeeWee.

How does he evade the contact when he’s being strong? My Cob X had a tendency to raise his head and tank, so a Mullen mouth Pelham or slotted kimblewick work well for faster/excitable work. My friend’s Section D however leans downwards, heavily on the bit to evade, so she found a Waterford Gag more useful.

He’s currently in a NS universal with two reins. I’d rather have one rein as I want to ride and lead eventually, so tried him today with roundings which he hated and pulled like a train. He was good in a kimblewick but I felt it was a bit much as 99% of the time he’s an angel . I might just stick with the universal and leave the bottom rein knotted on his neck for only when needed. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before really. ?
Thanks everyone ??
