I was wondering what bit people are using on young horses that have just been broke and riding a few weeks. My horse has a lovely mouth and no problem twisting and turning, I have noticed he is trying to avoid the contact when asked occasionally. I’m wondering what bits people are using or would recommend.
PS his teeth have been done and are perfect.

As above, depends what he is in now, although as a general rule of thumb I would suggest a rubber covered mouthpiece, as it is a bit warmer and more forgiving if you happen to accidentally catch them in the mouth. You don't want the horse to form any associations with discomfort while the bit is still relatively new to them.

I am bit of a broken record but do consider getting someone out like Horse Bit Fit. You will save yourself money in the long run and have a happy horse..

I tried him in a rubber d ring & he actually went ok in it, I’m not a big fan of d rings Though that’s the only thing.
What bit is he in currently?
i tried him in a straight bar happy mouth loose ring, a fulmer with a copper lozenge and tried a rubber d ring yesterday on him

I always started my young horses on eggbutt snaffles and “upgraded” if needed. A nice rubber bit to start off as they learn easier with them in I’ve found

I tried a rubber d ring yesterday!! I’m not a lover of the D ring but would you think they are soft enough for him?

As a default I’d generally start off in a D or egbutt slightly curved lozenge bit. Sprenger/Neule Schule or similar type.

If I had on the was light in the mouth and drawing back off the contact (which sounds like what you are saying?) then I’d move to a nathe
