Bit for strong horse when jumping

I'm wondering if any one can give my some advice on bitting my mare when jumping. I find that she is too strong in a snaffle and wont listen to me but have tried her in a Pelham which is too strong for her. If any one can think of any thing they think might help it would be appreciated. She is my first horse so it's all a learning curve for me. Thanks :)

thats a pretty rapid jump! try a hanging cheek snaffle with a link or lozenge in first instance poll pressure may be enough to give youthat little bit extra control. Also schooling will help get a good instructor before you resign yourself to putting in a stronger bit it may be a style issue you can overcome with a different way of riding.

Practice transitions between fences to keep her balanced and listening to you is always a good start
 
I would maybe try the many varieties of snaffles I have jsut changed my mare out of the NS Universal into a waterford. *touch wood* its working so far. Sh will still fight it but not as much as she did in the Universal! Give the bit bank a ring they are usually very helpful!Amber
