Any Ideas?
Av can work really nicely, but she gets very yakky in the mouth. I have been advised to change her bit to help with this but what to...I started her off in a simple eggbut snaffle but she didnt seem to like the craker action (shallow mouth), so rode her for ages in a loose ring french link. Dressage instructor suggested going back to loose ring straight bar happy mouth which settled her down for a bit but as shes got stronger she is respecting this less and less. Ride judge at last show suggested changing bit to get her listening a bit more.

Am temped by Myler but seem expensive so wanted to get some ideas first. (I am aso working on getting her more off my leg and strengthening my core so I can keep my hands ultra-white-glove-wearingly-still!)

I also sometimes ride her in a flash which helps

Thanks in advance

beg and borrow bits to try, or use the bit bank until you find the solution. is stronger meaning leaning and on forehand? always worth getting her teeth checked again possibly by a different person?

iv just tried a myler (the dressage legal) and my mare is extremely soft in the mouth (never used to be!) she messes around with her tongue still but im ignoring that for now and hopefully when she relaxes into work she'll stop!

i was just really impressed with the bit....if you flex on one rein it doesnt effect the other each side works independantly!makes so much sense and less confusing for the horse!

i think they are only 57 quid? thats practically a tank of petrol!

Thanks for the replies, Teeth are checked regularly but it wouldnt hurt to have another look. Will have a think- Holly_P u r so right....A tank of petrol or my chocolate allowance for the week!! Thanks
