Bit wild and windy up near us and having been in the school all week, friend Rach and I decided to go for a hack.

Now, my mare can be very quick with her 'flight response' and Rach's boy is an ex racer ('nuff said) so sometimes makes for some interesting moments....

Anyway, there we were, ambling along in walk and suddenly, for no reason my mare spins and turns for home - she went one way - I went the other. Landed in the worst mud ever only to hear my mare charging off.

Stood up to say I was ok and realised Rachel was on the floor as well!

We'd managed to do a synchronised fall off. (A first for me anyway...) and we were both covered in mud..

Fortunately she kept hold of her boy so my mare came back when she realised she was on her own

I couldn't get back on as I was laughing so much....

lol glad you were both unhurt
it was sooo windy today, had to really push my girl on, then we went very near our old yard and she refused to move so i had to get off for a moment and drag her past, little moo, but we got past, was the first time getting that close to old yard on her own mind

K dumped me by the estate office one day (at the jump by the cattle grid) and legged it at full pelt all the way back to our little gate by the A19..... I had to hobble after him

I'd blame your spook on the Phesants- they're everywhere, even if you can't see them, they're lurking somewhere

Oh dear,
At least you can laugh about it. And no one was hurt

Should have had it on video, you've been framed would have paid you for it, lol

what a horror! That's quite a way as well... Mind you, my mare would have run for home if Mulc hadn't been there today.

And as for the phesants - they have caused me tons of issues lately- V seems to think they are going to eat her!

Ha, that happened to me once ages ago - riding a horrible nappy mare who suddenly got her head right down between her knees and started bucking - I came off and lay flat out across the path, all I could hear was my friend bearing down on me encouraging her horse to jump me where I lay

. Luckily he shied and she fell off so we ended up next to each other ..

oh my! I did the same recently, but just me and the ned.... well, and a dozen startled onlookers who witnessed a chilled out horse and rider pass them one way, and then heard not so chilled out rider yelling "WATCH OUT!!!" as speedy horse decided to gallop right through the onlookers, having spooked at NOTHING and dumped rider! At least she came back - I had to hobble after him. amazing how bl&&dy far they get when they are going at canter towards home!
