Bit of a dilemma - what do I do?!! Selling horse.

Having had no interest for ages in my young horse, the phone has gone mad this last week. Some lovely people came to try him out yesterday and adored him. They said they wanted their trainer to come and see him and then get him vetted but would ring me later in the week to tell me when they could come.

Then another lady from miles away is very interested and wants to come today at 3 p.m to which I said fine.

Then man from yesterday just rang me and said the trainer can come tomorrow and then they'd like to have him vetted asap.

What do I say to lady who wants to come today? I feel as though I should be loyal to the first people but don't want to miss out on this lady in case she really wants him too.

Any ideas?
 
I would let her come today but ring her before she sets off and be completely straight with her that someone else is coming back with a trainer tomorrow.
 
Why don't you ring the lady that is coming today and explain the situation, let her still come if she is happy to on the provision that the first people have first refusal.
If the trainer for whatever reason doesn't like the horse you will let the lady know.
She may decide to leave it until the trainer has been and heard the outcome before travelling a long way.

Just be honest to all parties, then you don't have any comeback
 
Personally I think keep showing him to everybody. No point holding out for one person who may or may not buy the horse at the end of the day - some people can really mess you around.
Just let everyone who's interested know that you have a lot of other people coming to see the horse - they might make a decision quicker that way.
 
Total honesty is required! Tell everyone that other people are interested, it may encourage them to speed up the process. Also say that the horse will be sold to the first people who offer the asking price - although I'd tell the other parties when a vetting has been booked.
 
Let everyone keep seeing him - there's no saying that the lady today will buy him - there's no saying that the trainer tomorrow will like him (although I'm sure he's lovely!!)

He's not sold til you've received the deposit and he's passed the vet..... there are so many timewaster and dreamers about that it's the best way for you and the horse as well as your potential buyers

Explain this to anyone who comes - it's the fairest way :)
 
i would deffo let the other lady see him if she still wants to, after you've explained. The number of timewaster posts on here is really scary, and there's still the vet to get thru.

It will be a 200 mile round trip for her to come and see him. She is away for the rest of the week so can only make today. I think you're right that I should tell her they are coming back tomorrow.

I have just left a message on her answerphone and told her what is happening and said she is very welcome to come but that they have first refusal so perhaps she would want to wait until the weekend when her daughter could come.

Its the bus scenario - none at all then 5 come at once!!!
 
Let them all come to see-or offer first people option of deposit. Trainer may well say no (I had one come out-family loved horse, trainer came out and found something he didn't like in the first 5 mins and that was that) etc.
