Why don't you get off your high horse and realise that not everybody shares the same opinion as you. If someone wants to wear a hat, great. If they dont, so what? Stop shoving your opinions down other people throats and expecting them to agree. Wake up, its the real world.
sorry if that sounded harsh, but tbh this repetitive moaning nature of the forum is getting out of hand.
What's this I hear about you ranting about people crying?! I must have missed that but nothing annoys me more than a crier!!!!!

Its all the tears...they make my clothes soggy and its costs a fortune in tissues! Keep it bottled up people for goodness sake!!
(For those who take EVERYTHING I say seriously, that was a joke!!!!)

The "rant" about talking I am talking about you were very serious about a teenager crying over her grandad because he had been dead for a long time.......I know the difference between a serious post and a joke.

****psssst**** the last comment wasnt aimed at you,
HH, as a regular, I am sure you know this debate has well and truly been done to death. And FM is simply saying that you only seem to post about things that piss you off.
But she didnt say 'dont comment on me not wearing a hat'
so where's this coming from???
I posted pics the other day of pony tied directly to a gate, and before that of pony tied to a gatepost by his reins... if people want to comment, that's cool
I'm quite put out that when i posted pics of my daughter (age 4) riding without a hat not ONE person had the decency to comment on it
(disclaimer, she was being led round the yard)
seriously, if people want to ride hatless, let em.
They could be doing worse, like smoking a cigarette at the same time as riding a franch horse in incorrectly fitted draw reins and wearing spurs AND no hat. That would be irrisponsible.

LMFAO - that has really made me chuckle. I needed that today - thank you
don't be put off by the health and safety brigade they heve made this country what it is today....
f***ing boring.
My child couldn 't play at school last winter as they deemed it too much of a risk of injury to let the kids play outside.....
Tie them all to horses with no hats on and scare the pants off them thats what I say,, then maybe they might keep their noses out of business that has nothing to do with them.

People who have had bad injuries and no doubt live today because they were wearing a hat will obviously have strong views on this, yes people may be sick of been told or commented on but at the end of the day its about safety, its not like ist about anything nasty and its not worth falling out about.
I for one use to ride (messing around) in the school, jumping on bareback etc without a hat on odd times, would I do it now?, course I wouldn't but then I'd rather not take risks, when your younger you do tend to act first, think later, looking back I'm sure a lot of people act differently now than what they did years ago, both horse riding and all aspects of life.
We all have strong views about certain things because it means a lot to us and wouldn't want anyone or their family going through the same pain, after all if you die its your family that have to pick up the pieces.
It;s been almost 8 weeks since I demonsrated canter (stirrupless) to my children, my safety gear comprising of flip flops and sunglasses on my head. Upon realising I was about to fall, I thought "I dont want to break my sunglasses" and managed to land on my bottom and fracture my coxyx.
Next time I am riding a 9.3hh pony I shall strap a pillow to my backside.........

Maybe I am wrong but when I was younger ( a lot younger
) I did mountains worth of silly and dangerous things and not for one nano second did I think I was doing anything that would risk my life. Looking back now it makes me cringe, I cringe when I see no HI-vis, no hats, riding on top of rugs up the field with just a leadrope round the neck BUT I did it all and worse!
Now I have kids, I imagine the most horrific of scenarios, I am scared of corners on roads, I am scared of roads, car drivers and confined spaces with big horses and Shitlands, I am scared of a gnarly mare in season in case she kicks out and kills me, I love Hi-vis like Romeo loved Juliet, my hat and body-protector are my heros, I imagine the worst possible scenarios and it is ALL to do with motherhood and becoming aware of your own mortality. My teenage daughter hates me for it.
At the end of the day, the buck stops with you and your actions I suppose (not aimed at OP), we all take risks in life, some more than others and I agree with what someone else said, it's their head!!!!!
If a bloke from Montana (cliche i know) posted a picture of him riding his reining horse just wearing a cowboy hat... would you tell him to go and get a riding hat?
