I am currently on a yard that has been on the market for some time.
It seems to be the only one in the area with an Indoor, and the prices are reasonbile.
However they had a yard auction and they sold their tractor in this auction.
So alarm bells have gone off in my head, queue me thinking.. "How will they move out hayledge without the tractor..."
So I am resigning to the fact that I will need to move yards soon.
There are no yards around me any closer. The closest one with an arena is about 16 miles from home :(
There is nothing to rent around me, I have searched.
I am gutted because I added up that Hay would cost me double to buy in, especially in winter with no turnout. Also the facilities and hacking are fab and the prices are good :(
I wonder if they have a buyer in the pipeline and have not told us. I pay a month in advance so in theory I should get a months notice, same with the other liveries.
If I ask they just avoid the question, and I don't want to be rude incase I have gotten the wrong end of the stick and the kick me off!

No point in this really but I just needed a bit of a rant!!!

:( feel for you - having spent years searching for the "right" livery yard I'd be gutted too if I knew it was to be sold. How well do you get on with the current owners? If you get on well and regularly have a natter over a cup of tea or coffee you could maybe drop it in to conversation?
 
AS said above it is the not knowing that s the worry, but they should have to give you a months notice if you have a contract and once the place is sold it wont be handed over straight away too much paper work to be competed.
Hope you find a nice new yard or the new owners are happy for you to stay
 
Current owners are trying to sell it to someone horsey. However they are asking too much for the yard..
I don't have a written contract but I believe the fact that I pay monthly means there is a contract in place anyway if you get me?
I hope they cough up some information soon because it really is a nice little handy yard with an amazing indoor and outdoor!!!
