i know its probably hard to believe - but Ria is actually quite lazy!!!!! lol so please do excuse my appauling rising trot, i was trying to get her going forwards.. about half way through i jumped off to get my whip as i was failing miserably (i decided last week to start riding without my whip, not sure why, but it only lasted one day :P)

so yesterday i finally admitted to myself that maybe i am struggling a little bit with Ria.. she is a very difficult horse and can be completely psycho when she wants to be and yesterday she really did scare me a bit. i went to get on her and as i swung my leg over the saddle she reared vertical and leapt into the air off her hind legs, and if you've seen Ria leap, you know they arent small. then she continued to bolt and buck and spin and generally take the micky a bit. it took me a little off guard, usually i am ready for her to play up but i wasnt expecting her to do that as soon as i touched the saddle. i was actually in tears and shaking because it scared me so much.... but anyway... i did get off and attempt to lunge her for 20 minutes - managed to get her walking alright on the lunge woop!! (for those that dont know, she will NOT lunge.) i did get back on after and she worked quite nicely.

today i rode her again, i was still feeling quite nervous but she was pretty well behaved. only bolted twice and did the bucking (just as we disappear off screen you may notice that i fly into the air, i landed on her withers with one stirrup and somehow managed to stay on lol.) but i think i needed that to happen to prove to myself that i CAN work her through it.

we have started working on the outline in trot, its not perfect but she felt lovely and soft in the hand. outline in canter is developing slowly but surely!

thanks for all of the support people, means a lot! x

P.S. she has had everything checked, vet was out last week and gave her the all clear.

thankyou, it was purely because she is stabled at the minute due to boggy fields and hadnt been ridden for over a week, she just cant deal with it! it was as if she had never been ridden before. i did turn her out in the school for half an hour before i tacked her up but it obviously didnt help at all! shes never done that before though.. x
