As the title says really, moved my mares from their winter paddock to their summer ones on Thursday. I’ve done them with a track around the edge with food / water / shelter all as far away from eachother as possible, whereas normally would just give them a section of the field and strip graze our way back..
I have however noticed they’ve gone from a heaped barrow of poop a day (pretty much only eating hay) to 3/4 of a barrow a day.. they don’t seem hungry at all and left almost all their hay, were still eating their bucket feed normally & have been grazing as normal.
Is this a thing? I’ve tried to have a Google and see if anyone else has reported the same to no avail.. I’ve seen both of them poop like normal (albeit smaller piles but more regularly), and I have noticed they move a lot more than they used to.. but I didn’t expect to be picking less poop after moving them to their summer fields am I needlessly worrying?
