Bit of advice please

Right long story cut short, what kind of proof would a livery yard owner need to prove you have or havent paid your bill.

I have paid my bill when I sold my horse last october but I am being harrased saying I have not paid it. I paid cash and cheques different months. The times I paid cash are being said as unpaid. I asked for a reciept each time but never got one. I know I dont really nhave much to stand for but I do not owe it.

Need help to sort it all out please and know where I Stand.

Did the YO take the cash or someone else and have you written the dates down in a diary or such.

The yard owner took the cash, I did ask for a reciept but never got one.
I know the months I paid cash, but never expected this to happen to be honest.

Do you have bank statements showing cash withdrawals? may help.
No other ideas though sorry

I could back date it all, but I was thinking just because I withdrawn that amount out doesnt mean I paid it does it.

But I was just wondering what kind of proof would the yard owner need to proove I do owe. Although I dont just dont want to be caught out.
