Well, pretty stuck on what to do.
R is getting bigger every day, only 2 years until he is at school

and I keep thinking about horses.
Trouble is, I can't afford to buy one and keep up lessons. If I bought another budget for day to day things would be about £50 a week ATM.
Not a problem as such, I am a safe happy hacker and can happily do basic schooling BUT after a long break my confidence is on the floor.

Heart is saying buy again, there is nothing like that one on one bond, who cares if you dont progres?
Head is saying go do some NVQ's/BHS stages and get that confidence boast, some current hands on time, maybe try a share for a while and then thing about buying again.

Advice?
Pretty sure head is right, heart wont listen.

Why dont' you go for some lessons or trail rides Anima? If you did this a few times you would gain more confidence and then this would allow you to think about whether or not to get a horse now or leave it for a little while longer?

get some confidence before you take the plunge. Looking aftera horse daily can sometimes knock your confidence, and if that's already low it'd just make matters worse.

Wish you lived nearer, I'd love someone to have lessons with

Well plan is to have 2 maybe 3 lessons a week next summer after i have(fingers crossed) passed driving test, drop that down to a lesson and hack a week untill R starts school and then buy or go off to collage BUT have been thinking about maybe doing NVQ 1 as a confidence boost nest autum- no riding in that if I remember rightly though

ETS- when I left RS I was about to do stage 1 and YO instructer thought I was a couple of months work off 2, I KNWO I can do it but dont seem to be able to belive in myself anymore ,lol!

You know, it's a real shame that what I offer on my farm isn't readily available in England. I offer a service specifically designed for people like yourself - people who are considering buying a horse after a break away from them. They can take the horse off and do what they like within the farm boundaries - it would be perfect for you.

*packs a bag* Erm, where do you live agian?

That does sound ideal for so many people in my sort of situation.
On one hand, I could buy a horse and everything go perfectly.
On the other, my confidence could dive even further and ruin the horse- NOT being responsable for that.

Shame you are so far away, as you would be more than welcome to come and play ponies with my two. Theyre both under 15hh too so you wouldnt be too far off the ground! Hope you find a solution you are happy with. Good luck!

I'm guessing you have considered sharing?
