Does the YO supply the feed and is it basic stuff or what you ask for? I used to pay £70 in S Wales for much less than you say. Summer: horses out 24/7 and fences/horses/water never checked. Winter: 1 sacrifice mud square that about 5 groups of horses had to take a turn in. Not enough staff meant that horses were lucky to get 3 hours out in the mud square twice a week. Basic feed only and 3 miserly haynets a day. No grooming or picking feet out. Legs hosed if staff had time/could be bothered. Same price summer and winter. Indoor and outdoor schools but they were always in use with either riding school groups or pony club or even the local rugby club! Reasonable hacking though a growing number of kids on scramble bikes screaming round the woods making life dangerous. Lethal barbed wire fencing everywhere, most of it sagging, unrepaired and treacherous. Many, many torn legs and feet and rugs. My horse taught himself to step through the sagging barbed wire to get to the grass in the field next door and he was immediately banned from any turnout at all except 20 miserable mins in the indoor school once a week. He got desperately depressed and was losing weight. YO refused to do anything or even to discuss things. I moved and am now at a fabulous DIY yard that also offers part or even full livery for a similar price as the other yard but VERY different standards of horse care. My horse is happy again and has gone from a 5.9 rug to a 6' as he has put back all the weight he lost (and then some). Thankyou H.
