I like my neds around 15hh and I like them a bit chunky...I'm looking to buy about this time next year and the more coblet photos on here the more I want one again!

I'd be looking for something I could show/jump/hunt etc. but I certainly don't mind having to do some schooling/hogging etc work first.

Considering I'm not tooo fussed age/gender etc wise what kind of price range would I be looking at?

Depends if you are willing to look further afield, I got my mare (in the picture)from 150 miles away, but got her delivered with tack for 1400.00, she is only 6 and very green but ace in traffic and very honest. too good to be true.....almost, when i got her i couldnt pick any of her feet up but we are now making good progress. I think she was a bargain anyway!

It definitely depends how fussy you are and what you are willing to bend on... if you're not fussy about age you'll have a lot more options open to you...

I wanted a trad when I was looking, 9 months ago and had a budget of £3k... everything I looked at, that was within budget, was really young and in the end I bought something that was younger than I wanted and have had to put in the extra work. But he's absolutely been worth every second. These cobs are such brilliant types that more often than not they really are worth their weight!

Freddie (in my sig) was £3000, 14.2hh, 4yo. But had been started by a producer and done well at the handful of shows he'd been to. I probably paid a bit too much for him but I knew the people we bought him from so for me that was worth it.

It does seem, rightly or wrongly, that there is a bit of a cut off point at £3k and anything under that marker could be a bit of a gamble, whereas if you go above that mark you're more likely to get something of good quality. Sorry, I know that's a horrible generalisation to make but it's what I found when I was looking.

Only thing I am a bit fussy on it not really wanted a coloured. Brought on youngsters before so not too bothered about bringing on a baby or having something a little older.

Sounds promising at least.
