I'm having a lesson tomorrow, my first in 3yrs! Not that exciting you may think, but it's on my gorgeous mare who's been a broodie since she was 3! She's rising 7 this year and I've owned her since dec '09, buying her in foal from a local stud. She was broken at 3 in Germany where she did her mare test and hasn't been ridden since. Until 2 weeks ago when I clambered on board. I'd been building up her muscles with lots of lunging and long reining. Then one day, the weather was so lovely and she was so chilled, I decided just to hop on. She's been really good so far though so green. I'm taking her down to my trainers yard in the morning for a session to get us a bit more forward and confident. I hope she behaves cos she can be a little stressy at times!

Here are some pics of the first day I got on. Please dont slate me for the wellies, getting on was a spur of the moment thing and I'd usually always wear proper boots. And a couple of pics of her with her colt from last year.

Wish me luck!!!

She's dressage bred from Donnerhall and Weltmeyer lines so she'll be my dressage diva. The coloured mare in my sig used to do that job but is now retired to a hacking home as she's getting on a bit now. Can't wait to get back out competing!

Thanks for your kind comments guys. x

I reckon she'll make you a lovely dressage diva, paces look nice and I can imagine her in lots and lots of bling....

She's a bonny girl. Lots of fun for the future no doubt. Have fun, I'd be excited too it's a whole new learning curve with her.
