Rising 5 horse, tried myler comfort with roller, head constantly bobbing, fine in canter but walk trot and halts really unsettled in the head.

went to fulmer french link, some bobbing, in walk halts snatches neck forwards and pulls about a bit, so then tried german snaffle - just the same.

What should I try? No other signs of discomfort
Will call dentist out Mon, but just wonder if anyone has any ideas?

I'd get the dentist / vet out to have a look at her teeth first before you try much else

could very well be due to new teeth, i would get the dentist to check for wolf teeth etc and then wait a while for his mouth to settle before changing the bit

thnaks -Got wolf teeth dealt with a while back but it was vet rather than usual dentist - I will get the dentist out but just wondered if anyone would reccomend rubber /nathe bits?

i started with a straight bar happy mouth eggbutt snaffle - started well but learnt to lean although NOT strong.... so he is now ridden in a loose ring jointed eggbut snaffle sweet iron and he goes a treat

deffo check with dentist first have you had sadle and back checked too as my boy becomes v usettled in his head when saddle or back out

thanks will get dentist - and try a happy mouth in the mean time. I really don't know what it is she does this licking thing - originally I thought it was stress as she only used to do it in company -but fine when jumping! Ah if only they could talk!

i was recommended to put vet wrap around the bit mouthpiece - it's meant to be good for sensitive horses. wrap it round as tight as you can and then you can mold it slightly and give it some curve. it should last for ages once it's been used and remolded by the horse's mouth.
good luck!
