Bit Sizes????

Hi all,


I have a few different bits which i alternate between with my horse, they are all of the same size. She has been going great in the loose ring french link that I have. However when i put her bridle on the bit looks fine but towards the end of the ride i can see it looks a bit narrow for her mouth (not sure if its because shes mouthing it and making it 'shorter' if that makes sense. Do you use different sizes for different bits?

I've always been taught that for loose rings you should always go 1/4" or so bigger to accomodate the ring action. Might be worth going up a size perhaps? xx

It should be 1/2" for loose ring to allow for the action and 1/4" for eggbutt variety bits

Also different makes measure up differently, eg, Myler come up big.
