Following on from my post in NL and all the very helpful advice I received (thank you so much everyone!) I'm planning to try a kimblewick or a pelham on my pony. His full cheek single joint snaffle in 5", would i go for the same size for a Kimblewick? How about a pelham?
 
Same size.

The only thing you may have to watch with a pelham is the ring on the top may 'dig' into your horse's cheeks. This happens to my horse if the pelham is her usual bit size. Some bits have the rings angled out slightly or offset as with the Happy Mouth.
