Bit sizing

The dentist measured my horse for a bit and advised a 5.25" french link snaffle. I've looked and they seem to come in 0.5" - so would a 5.5" be ok with bit rings? Thanks.

I am not an expert on bit sizing but I would think a 5.5" would be fine.

If you need a 5 1/4" then get a 5 1/4"; there are plenty of manufacturers who make them in that size.

Thank you and thanks for the bump. I'll also look harder to see if I can find a 5.25"

Neue schule are lovely bits and they come in the 1/4 inch sizes my cob has the loose ring and is in the 5 1/4 to allow room so the rings don't pinch
