Any experience anyone please?
When did it start? How often does it happen? How much at a time? Is this different for every dog?
I did take her to the vet last week but she thought it was a one off as it only happened over a period of about 24 hours then she was fine. Took a sample with me and it was clear of infection or blood. Happened again this weekend though, seems to be less leaking but more often, like every time she goes to sleep :-(
I am worried it is something even more sinister, she's 5 and been spayed for 15 months.
Thanks

My bitch had this when she was two,cut a long story short her bladder was horrendously diseased the vets had never seen anything like it,she had half of her bladder removed and has been on incontinence medication since which works.

Her symptoms started with uncontrollably peeing and she never showed any signs of a UTI even at her worst, although a scan showed her bladder was thickened.

Some bitches do get problems as they get older if it carries on a scan can show quite a lot she had to have a cystoscopey for a proper diagnosis.

Hopefully it is just one of hose things that don't have a reason and go by themselves, as my dogs was very very rare.

I have a seven year old spayed lab bitch that has this problem sometimes. Ellie has had puppies in the past, not sure if that has contributed to the problem. Our Vet prescribed Propalin syrup that soon clears it up.

I had a schnauzer who had urinary incontinence. She was on Propalin which controlled it, but it's not a cure, if I forgot a dose she leaked. That said it was no bother to give her the drops every day, I put them onto a little piece of bread so they soaked in and I knew she had had them, rather than put them on her food. I also got the dose down to the minimum that would control the situation and that was quite a lot less than she could have had. She was like this for 15 years with no bad side effects, and I don't remember it being that expensive.

thank you all for your replies. I am taking her to the vet again tomorrow though she seems to have stopped leaking again. She is drinking more than the other 2 though so I hope that isn't a bad sign. It is weird how it seems to happen at the weekend when we are away with the caravan unless I'm just not noticing at home as it isn't so obvious, all the beds felt dry this morning.
